About This Course
This introductory on demand class provides an overview of the basic steps for installing a residential split system air conditioner. Among the topics covered are equipment location, system connections, and metering devices. We also cover line set installation, auxiliary heat and controls installation, refrigerant handling, and evacuation procedures. Bio
Tim has 32 years in the HVAC Industry and has been President of Smith & Associates, providing HVACR technical training, certification testing and residential energy audits from 1993 to the present. He has been an Assistant Professor of Heating Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technical Services at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, New York from August, 1990 to the present. He earned an Assoc. of Occupational Studies in Heating, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technical Services at Hudson Valley Community College in 1986; a BS in Technical Education at the State University of New York at Oswego, 1996; and is a BPI Certified Building Analyst, Heating Professional and AC/Heat Pump Professional.
