Complete this twelve-part on-demand series to receive your Energy Skilled recognition to take your career or business to the next level. This series equips HVAC professionals with the knowledge and skills needed for heat pump installation and comfort advising. Covering topics from foundational principles to advanced technologies, learners will explore the mechanics of heat pumps, variable-speed systems, and cold-climate solutions. It includes lessons about smart tools, thermostats, and the latest ACCA standards for quality installation and verification. It also covers Manual J and Manual D calculations, system commissioning, leak detection, and essential service diagnostics. An introductory video explains how to navigate the content which is delivered with video and simulation-based modules. To complete a class, a student must watch all the content and pass all the assessments with a score of 80% or higher. Completion of all 12 courses in the series qualifies you as Energy Skilled-recognized, and you will receive a letter of recognition.

Tim has 32 years in the HVAC Industry and has been President of Smith & Associates, providing HVACR technical training, certification testing and residential energy audits from 1993 to the present. He has been an Assistant Professor of Heating Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technical Services at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, New York from August, 1990 to the present. He earned an Assoc. of Occupational Studies in Heating, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technical Services at Hudson Valley Community College in 1986; a BS in Technical Education at the State University of New York at Oswego, 1996; and is a BPI Certified Building Analyst, Heating Professional and AC/Heat Pump Professional.
