This introductory, on demand class explores how Manual D protocols are used for calculating and designing HVAC systems in residential buildings. Manual D is the industry standard protocol for calculating the size required for return and supply ducts and registers. You will learn how HVAC technicians use the Manual D protocols to calculate duct and register requirements to ensure the appropriate distribution of heating and cooling to each area in a designated space. Tim has 32 years in the HVAC Industry and has been President of Smith & Associates, providing HVACR technical training, certification testing and residential energy audits from 1993 to the present. He has been an Assistant Professor of Heating Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technical Services at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, New York from August, 1990 to the present. He earned an Assoc. of Occupational Studies in Heating, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technical Services at Hudson Valley Community College in 1986; a BS in Technical Education at the State University of New York at Oswego, 1996; and is a BPI Certified Building Analyst, Heating Professional and AC/Heat Pump Professional.
