About This Course

This introductory, on demand class explores the fundamentals of ACCA Standards 5 and 9. It explains the HVAC Quality Installation Specification core areas, including design, equipment installation, distribution, and system documentation. Learn the critical requirements for proper HVAC installation, which include ventilation calculations, system documentation, and owner education. We cover how to effectively verify compliance and to optimize HVAC system performance through level 1 and level 2 verification processes using the HVAC Quality Installation Verification Protocols. Bio

Tim has 32 years in the HVAC Industry and has been President of Smith & Associates, providing HVACR technical training, certification testing and residential energy audits from 1993 to the present. He has been an Assistant Professor of Heating Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technical Services at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, New York from August, 1990 to the present. He earned an Assoc. of Occupational Studies in Heating, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technical Services at Hudson Valley Community College in 1986; a BS in Technical Education at the State University of New York at Oswego, 1996; and is a BPI Certified Building Analyst, Heating Professional and AC/Heat Pump Professional.
